- UV Transmittance Testing
- Standards: AATCC 183
- Spectrophotometer testing
- Calculates UPF, UV transmitted, and UV blocked
Price per fabric construction per color
Each fabric/color - $50
Simulated Use Exposure
- Standards: ASTM D6544
- Simulate treatment over 2 years of normal wash
and wear
- Laundering (40 times) AATCC 135
- Exposure to UV (100 fading units) AATCC 16E
- Exposure to Chlorinated water ( for swimsuit
fabrics only) extra charge
1st and 2nd fabric $600 each
3rd or more fabrics that can be laundered together at one time -
$400 each
These tests would be run one each construction/color once. Unless
changes were made in fabric or finishing they would only need to
be routinely lot tested for UV transmittance for annual re-certification.
Certification - UV BLOCK
Fabrics must have been tested according to AATCC 183 - Initial (or
one wash) and after D6544. Sample of initial fabric and fabric after
D6544 must be submitted along with fabric construction/lot numbers/fabric
code numbers for each. Labeling of products must follow ASTM D6603
guidelines.
Each fabric-construction/color - $250 each/year.
For fabrics tested by International UV Testing for ASTM D6603,
ASTM D6544 and AATCC 183, a $50 credit would be applied to certification
cost.
Labels will be made available near cost. |
